Startup Live! is the night we gather the whole startup family to tell stories, celebrate with each other and find new ways to work together. 

Whether you're a new or experienced entrepreneur, investor, community builder, creative, techie, student or employee from a startup or a large company, or you are just interested to learn, come along and be inspired.

Interview with Elisabeth Brevenson

Elisabeth is an entrepreneur and Founder of Beepsend, a Malmö-based startup that recently sold to American company Twilio. Elisabeth will share her experience on how she gained initial support for her company, grew the company over 2000% over three years and eventually sold it.

Have you ever wondered what type of innovations are coming out of Malmö, Lund or Helsingborg? We will sit down with four experts from across the region to discuss exciting companies and trends developing in eHealth, eCommerce, DeepTech/Computer Vision and CleanTech. 

Investor Panel Discussion - Get ready for a glimpse into the future!

Want to predict the future? Hear from a panel of experienced investors about how they see the future developing. Will meat come from animals or will it be grown in laboratories, eliminating the need for slaughter and reducing green house gases produced by livestock. Will we control our homes through our smartphones, what will be possible? We’ll explore all this and more!

Stay around after the main event to mingle with other people interested in the startup community! Meet investors, entrepreneurs, students, influencers and more. Exchange ideas, get feedback, or just discuss what you heard on stage. We promise great people, some free drinks and something light to snack on.

Are you a women who is interested in entrepreneurship? Join us for a coffee with a group of incredibly passionate women who are all interested in entrepreneurship. You don’t have to be an entrepreneur to join and you can be of any age. This pre-event is free and open to all women.

Elisabeth Brevenson
Founder of Beepsend

Elisabeth is the Founder of Beepsend, which was recently purchased by San Francisco-based Twilio.  Beepsend was a provider of cloud-based communication services to enterprises and mobile operators worldwide. Elisabeth grew the company from a revenue of 4million SEK in 2009, to over 100million SEK just four years later in 2013.

Elisabeth has received numerous awards, including Business Woman of the Year, Technology Fast 500 EMEA, Entrepreneur of the Year, and Pioneer of the Year in Skåne.

Founding Partner, Fifty Years

Seth is Founding Partner at Fifty Years, a seed fund that backs entrepreneurs solving the world's biggest problems with technology. He is a social entrepreneur, Impact investor and Founder of Amicus and He is also a Y Combinator alum and was named Forbes 30 Under 30 for social entrepreneurship.

CMO at Orbital Systems

Sara is Chief Marketing Officer at Orbital Systems, a cleantech company making the shower of the future,  a shower that offers up to 90% water and energy savings. Orbital Systems recently received an investment of 150 million Swedish Kronor from investors including Skype founder, Niklas Zennström. 

Sara is also a Senior Advisor at the Minc incubator, Board member at Malmö Yrkeshögskola, and former CEO at gaming company, Planeto.

Ebba is CEO of SmiLe Incubator (previously Lund Life Science Incubator) and a thought leader in eHealth. She sits on the Board of Director of the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University and Connect Sverige Region Syd, an organisation that connects entrepreneurs to coaching and investment.

Björn Bergström
Investment Manager, Industrifonden

Björn is an Investment Manager at Industrifonden where he is involved in startups like Soundtrack Your Brand, Funnel, Soundtrap, and more. Prior to joining the venture capital world, Björn worked as a management consultant and on the startup side as a founder and business developer.

Industrifonden is one of the most active venture capital firms in southern Sweden, having invested in local startups like InRiver and Oatly.

Kalle Åström
Professor & Computer Vision Expert

Kalle is an expert in Computer Vision and Chairman of Cognimatics, a world leader in intelligent video and image analysis. Kalle has a PhD in Mathematics and is a Professor at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences at Lund University. 

Lund University, and specifically LTH, has be known for spawning companies out of the university's research programs. Several well known companies started at the university, including Polar Rose (sold to Apple), Mapillary (Investment of over $9m) and Cognimatics.

Partner at Moor Capital

Katja has longstanding experience building global telecoms and internet technology businesses. As co-founder of Pipebeach, she built a digital tech start-up into a category leader in global mobile voice services, before it was acquired by HP. 

Katja has held senior business development positions at Nokia and Ericsson. Katja speaks Finnish, German, French, Swedish and English. She is passionate about new technologies and new ways to change the world for the better.
